Laura Ward Holliday doesn’t only have degrees and certifications in skills and techniques of alternative dispute resolution and specifically the process known as mediation, she has life experiences that have required her to use these skills within herself.  This is why the wisdom set out in her ground breaking book is so significant today. 

As a musical prodigy who started the study of music at the tender age of 5 years, started to perform on stage at 9 years and made her first recording at age 16, she has had life experiences from an early age that required her to apply the techniques set out in her book.  From a teenage performer to a teen bride married to a high profile man to a teen mom of triplets, the skills required to navigate the waters of her life have resulted in the wisdom she articulates in Mediation Within.

After a divorce, she finished her education and acquired a Bachelor of Arts degree in music education and a Doctor of Jurisprudence.  After finishing law school she went into business as a private practitioner and mediator.  She has served on United Nations sanctioned legal delegations as an International Observer of the 1994 South African elections and also as an International Visitor in the 1994 Mexican elections.  She currently serves on the policy committee of the Friends Conference on National Legislation based in Washington, D. C.
